Poor old boy there. Poor old boy. Great bunch of pages here. Truly great. Characters really get to you.

I think Rhode Island will need to be sectioned off for use of storage of view's growth in ego today! And on such a bummer page too. When things get positive again...

I've had a similar experience to panel 4. My last ex had just gotten out of a show, I was, on the bed, tried that...and got it.

But poor getting tossed out.

Does this mean that she's gonna get serious about winning over Jim? :O

Miwa goes to war

I don't get Miwa's first two statements; they seem contradictory. She starts by claiming that there's little measurable difference between the smartest and dumbest people in the area, but then that Jim's the only man with a brain. Which I'm taking as an implication that not-Jim people are dumb in her opinion, or that there's enough of a gulf between Jim's smartness and everyone else dumbness that she's dissatisfied with any not-Jims. So, I am confoozed.

She's saying everyone is stupid except Jim. Is it really unclear?

I got it...

The part where she's calling everyone else dumb is clear, but it makes her first statement weird to me, since she just said that there's little difference between the dumbest and the smartest.

Ah, sorry it's confusing.

I think the point is that when she speaks of the town, she is speaking of everyone except him. He is not "part of the town" to her mind, he is something special.
Miwa is a bitch, but mostly I think she just feels lonely and, ah..., unstimulated.
JasperWB 27th Nov 2011, 5:26 PM edit delete reply
I heard it as everyone else is nothing special. They are all the same, unremarkable. No one is really stupid or smart or stands out. Except Jim, who is extremely intelligent and skilled.

You know art wise, I think this is one of my favorite pages of yours of all time. Each panel could be its own piece, if you took out the speech bubbles. It shows quite the range.

Also did anyone else hear the CSI Miami theme play during the last panel?

...So she's pretty much stating she's been using him and he literally tries to lap it right up? Jeez, dude. >_>;
