Huge spike in viewership while I was on vacation. Fortunately, now that I've started posting actual comic pages again, they've all gone away.

This whole thing was a bit difficult for me to draw. I hope everything was perfectly clear. By the way, don't try to jump off a pendulum unless you're a super-robot, or you'll just fall off and land on your face. So I've heard.

Hansel is a cheeky bastard. Don't really get the push, I suppose the next page will make that clear. The crane fell?

Weird that the holidays spiked. This website in general was pretty slow. I know because...well I never actually left..

Remember that those robots don't obey the classic robotics law. What he did, he did out of honest concern for a friend.

Practically the same thing (wired people/liquid people), and you notice how tuned in to the surroundings he is too.
Gyde 1st Jan 2012, 1:35 AM edit delete reply
The push was because when Gretel jumped she turned the crane into a pendulum and it swung right where the girl (does she even have a name?) was standing. Also, did Hansel get out of the way in time? I think his body could handle it, but still, that's a lot of abuse even for him.

Well, she actually took the crane down entirely. The pendulum thing is just my comment about the initial jump kind of handwaving the physics a bit.

But correct!

Damn robots, making a mess. Wearing hats.
Seafog 1st Jan 2012, 3:58 AM edit delete reply
Maybe what is missing is a sound effect, a whoosh-klang! sound of the crane hitting ground.
Seafog 1st Jan 2012, 3:59 AM edit delete reply
Because the sound effect that is there is from the crane breaking loose before it falls.

Yeah, but she can't hear it, and there's not really room for it. I made the call on purpose, although it might have been a bad one.

Situational awareness! Some people need it more than others.

Oh my! A highly dramatic (and fraught with consequences as well) end of the year cliffhanger! Apparently, it really does matter which pair of eyes you bring along. Waverly wasn't deploying her head phones to block out the silliness at all. Quite the opposite. It sure would be nice to have access to nearly unlimited information on any subject. No Wait!.. Any way, A Happy New Year to you and looking forward to the next one too! Thank you indeed for sharing your World with us all! ( p.s. Any story with cats and railroads in it is just naturally superior!!!)

Judging from the now deleted comments, someone posted something on /b/ and people came about. Then I guess I don't know they got bored and left, or maybe they'll check back in a few days.

I wonder if Hans is okay.

Since everyone's asking the important questions, I'll ask a stupid 1. In Panel 5, did she mean the dinosaur's or Gretel's skull?
view 1st Jan 2012, 2:38 PM edit delete reply
view
No, she doesn't see Gretel's stunts at all.
Iamari 2nd Jan 2012, 4:15 AM edit delete reply
I knew she was talking about the dinosaur. Like I said/typed, since several of the other comments were actually asking about what really mattered. I decided to be silly.
Meh.Aloe 1st Jan 2012, 7:34 AM edit delete reply
Ooh! I'm speculating that now we get to see those robot immortality back-ups in action, courtesy of Hansel's probably-not-quite-indestructible hat!

If so, it will be exciting to see all the characters reacting to their friend dying, but not really dying, but sort-of dying, but not permanently, and it'd be kind of a nice contrast to Gretel's birthday scene with her back-up being made and her own not-quite-death. Also Gretel would be full of guilty!

... Or maybe he'll be fine. :P I'm sort of hoping for that, too.
Meh.Aloe 1st Jan 2012, 7:36 AM edit delete reply
Well I guess maybe they all have the potential to feel guilty, whether it be directly like Gretel, or less-directly.

Also it is sad that Hansel is constantly getting ignored by women-folk absorbed in sciencey things. AND NOW HE'S maybe DEAD.

Yeah, there was likely a huge spike because someone posted Cheer on /b/ during the week. I am one of what I assume was many who sought it out, found your Hentai Foundry gallery, read the whole thing, and was subsequently led here. Your work is awesome, View. This is coming from someone who never comments but felt compelled to, stayed up until 5:30 am reading the entirety of Cheer and then this, and now has you bookmarked. Keep up the good work, sir. :)

the huge spike is because some lonely drunk guy posted 60 something pages of cheers on /b/ the other day, and after 30 mins or so someone posted your name and this website. I am proud to say I also found out about you via that thread. keep up the good work View. by the way what is that avatar of yours is supposed to be?
