I used to get similar reactions to doing things like that. Tis much better to have them yell at you than laugh mockingly and condescendingly however..

Twice in one day? This could be very bad, good, or change nothing. Always extremes with that place. It's like having a lottery via Russian Roulette.

Well, I only saw about a hundred visitors from both links combined, so it seems I'm not very interesting to them. But thanks for the thought!

100 visitors from both link?
Sounds decent to me.

I certainly won't complain, but if I hadn't been told about them, I wouldn't have noticed the spike.

Dang, she needs a readyness check !

That said, I love the emotions you manage to put into your characters. :)

It's always kind of iffy to give characters any emotion besides the one that initially defines their character. People always think the character is being "unrealistic" if they have other emotions.

That's why in things like superhero comics, superheroes rarely have any emotion besides stoic determination. In order for them even to get angry or introspective, it has to be a big plot arc driving them to feel that way.

Sheela
Yeah, but it's more than that.

I *suspect* you are good at drawing emotions in part because of talent and in part of propably having gone trough them yourself .. possibly a good few times. Or had friends or family go trough a lot. After all, it's kinda hard portraying emotions of something you've never tried, or something like it.

For example, 2 years ago, I woke up with my left side paralyzed, turned out I had had a blood clot while sleeping. And when I got my diagnose, the doctor added the little "it might be permanent." line to the mix.
Luckily, I have managed to retrain most of my ability, but my left leg is still a bit odd, so I cannot jump, run and dance - though I can walk fairly normally. Also I have to eat some pills for the rest of my life to avoid another blood clot. Not for one or two weeks .. the rest of my life.

Now, if I have to try and explain how this felt to another person, it's really hard .. especially if it's a young person, 'cause they've never had something "stop working".

But at the same time, I get off smashingly with a lady down the road that had some brain damage from a traffic accident where she got amnesia and forgot most of her life ... she too recovered much of it, but some is still gone, and her doctor also gave her the "it might be permanent" line - So we sorta know what each other have faced, which makes it easier to talk about it.

It's hard to understand how incredibly tough that little bit about "it might be permanent" can be.
Which is sorta what happened to Hans in this comic, and thus to his friends, including a certain girl that needs a readyness-check. And yet there she is, getting felt up and not feeling ready. :D

... ok ...

I'm done rambling now.

... I think ...

It's a cute page. :3 However, panel 3 makes me a bit annoyed with Mary... I'm sure she's just flustered and not thinking too clearly, but it just seems so theatrical, considering how obvious it is that Jim already has her affection. Also it feels a bit presumptuous... Jim is, like, the most awesome and cutest guy ever; if I were Mary, I think I'd consider myself incredibly fortunate if *I* earned *his* affection... :P Of course, I realise she's just lacking in confidence and is trying to find some way to divide her present self from her childish past-self (as far as being around Jim is concerned, that is). Or so I understand it, anyway. :P

It's the last gasp of her stupid resistance.
