funny Mr. Troll.
cattservant 27th Feb 2012, 10:57 PM edit delete reply
One of her patented semi-teleportational moves (compare with page #157) and then a strategic withdrawal, while she has the advantage... (with a parting booty shot for emphasis!)

@cattservant i see that you've changed the creepy "i wan't your skin" comment, much better now that people know you're a cat instead of a human skin hunting robot.

@ravenor78 Gisele speaks cat-onese too! I'll only bring out the skin request for the annual "Skin For Robo-Cat Girls Telethon". (See pages #147-150 for details.)

ravenor78 27th Feb 2012, 11:03 PM edit delete reply
She manipulates almost as well as my sister!

And as we learned from Sun Tzu, in any battle, the wedgie is the great equalizer.

Jim has already won. There is no way she can win, this page confirms it.
cattservant 28th Feb 2012, 12:35 AM edit delete reply
She may value the contest much more than the win if she is as honest with herself as she thinks she is...

panel 1: Miwa; "...minor fix...all four...". Waverly might well be more intractable than she (Miwa) anticipates! (page #194 panel 7) Elvis, not so much. (page #123)
Meh.Aloe 28th Feb 2012, 5:18 AM edit delete reply
I am still confused by the first panel. D:
cattservant 28th Feb 2012, 5:54 AM edit delete reply
@Meh.Aloe: Do you refer to what Miwa is saying to Jim?
Meh.Aloe 28th Feb 2012, 8:26 AM edit delete reply
I refer indeed to this!
cattservant 28th Feb 2012, 11:08 AM edit delete reply
I was curious too, so I checked back. It is a continuation of what she was saying on page #235 panel 3. The adults have a plan in hand to help the four children recover from the trauma of Hansel's accident. per view <in Comments> page #229. Miwa helps Gretel. pages #217-227 and Jim and Mary help Hansel. pages #228-234. I think, in panel 1, that Miwa is being dismissive about what she did for Gretel and offering to help the other three children as well. (At this point we don't know how Waverly and Elvis are coping with the situation. However Waverly was very upset at the time. pages #193-195.) Of course I've made more than one mistake in my career as a Commenteer! <And no, I really don't have anything better to do in the middle of the night...>

I guess I was too vague in the comic. They're all working together to help out the kids.
Meh.Aloe 28th Feb 2012, 3:12 PM edit delete reply
It's such a Miwa-ish way to say it. :P

I remembered they were working together to help the kids, but I didn't connect the "all four" Miwa is talking about in the first panel with the four kids for some reason. Now that I do I like that line very much! :D
cattservant 28th Feb 2012, 3:12 PM edit delete reply
@view: The Village it takes, ehh? Everyone in loco parentis. Some just more loco than others...

Ugh...I dislike Miwa. She's everything I loathe in a person: Superiority complex, assuming attitude, bossy...

I might have thought she was "growing on me" at one point in the story, but now I see that she'll only ever "grow" to the same extent that a malignant tumor does. :-/
JasperWB 28th Feb 2012, 7:25 AM edit delete reply
I go back and forth. I really hate all those exact same qualities considerably. But sometimes Miwa can be rather attractive considerably. I guess I can only stay mad till I'm turned on. It's like a roller coaster with awesome dips but long ass, interrupting climbs. And a line that is short, but goes through a bunch of those snake like curves to conserve space
Prestidigititis 28th Feb 2012, 2:48 PM edit delete reply
Thank goodness one other person has expressed the same feelings toward Miwa that I have. I was worried I'd become more jaded than I usually am.
Sheela 28th Feb 2012, 9:22 PM edit delete reply
Well, to be fair, in order to get in touch with Miwa's better parts, one has to navigate a narrow and constricting maze of issues and sexual innuendo.
Shadowstitch 28th Feb 2012, 8:40 AM edit delete reply
I must be one of the few people who genuinely likes Miwa. She has issues, sure, and a bit of an ego, but I feel like she's just young, attractive, well ahead of the curve intelligence-wise, and hasn't yet learned the merits of humility. Give her 5 years of personal growth and she'll be a force of nature. (no pun intended.)

I'm surprised Jim hasn't considered another option: Fuck her already. He's pushing her away, telling her she can't have something, which just makes her more determined to get it, but I've known girls who remind me of Miwa; I'm pretty sure the instant Jim acquiesces and she gets what she wants, she will lose all interest in keeping him. He just needs to give in to her, thereby depriving her of her challenge, or at best, offering a pyrrhic, submissive victory. I predict she'd not only realize the childish futility of her pursuit, but immediately give up on her conquest, leaving him free to pursue Mary unhindered. Just a thought, anyways.
cattservant 28th Feb 2012, 9:11 AM edit delete reply
@Shadowstitch: Oddly enough, Jack gave Jim that very advice. (pages #056-58) Miwa certainly is a polarizing person. There was even discussion in the Comments about her ability to reach out through the Fourth Wall and touch the Readers!

Jst56strong 28th Feb 2012, 11:09 AM edit delete reply
So serious question, is Miwa the kind of girl who would blackmail Jim into sex or rape him?
cattservant 28th Feb 2012, 11:23 AM edit delete reply
So serious observation, she is the rather blunt and hands on type. (page #070, #110-111, #127-129, #153-162 #235-236) But I think she would like a more elegant solution if she can arrange it. (and we know she can!) One might say she would prefer a marionette to a sock-puppet...
view 28th Feb 2012, 1:38 PM edit delete reply
Ah, it's still a few chapters before you find the answer to that.
JasperWB 28th Feb 2012, 2:07 PM edit delete reply
Cryptic answer must mean yes. What a bitch. However I doubt it would work.

I think Miwa's on to something with her assessment of her present relationship with Jim. I tend to agree that Jim has made a decision to rebuff Miwa that seems based on something less than sensible - perhaps a prejudice against her wealth? She just offered to help his friends get over the loss of Hans' 3 years. She clearly thinks the world of Jim, she is well respected by all Jim's friends. And yet Jim is not really treating her as a child, but as an advesary. Despite how aggressive Miwa 's approach, I can't help but feel there's something motivating Jim that Forview hasN't shared.
cattservant 28th Feb 2012, 3:52 PM edit delete reply
You'd have to question Jim's membership in the X-Y club if he wasn't conflicted by all this attention. Maybe we need to know more about Miwa's lightning strike and what it took rehabilitate her to put Jim's attitude into some perspective.
IrishPandaPrincess94 28th Feb 2012, 5:16 PM edit delete reply
XD Poor Jim.....Miwa's going after the wrong man......Jim's preoccupied with Mary.....XD...when will she EVER learn....HE'S NOT INTERESTED MIWA
Sheela 28th Feb 2012, 9:30 PM edit delete reply
Unless she has calculated the actual chances of him being sincerely attracted .. which may be higher than we expect, because he could be .. in denial ! Maybe she's even aiming at a threesome with Jim and Mary !

We've seen weirder stuff in fiction, I'm sure.

Still, I'd like him to get a proper relationship going with Mary. :)
cattservant 28th Feb 2012, 10:44 PM edit delete reply
@Sheela: Given the history of certain parallel worlds in the view-niverse, you could be correct. Also see page #106.
iamjagman 28th Feb 2012, 10:22 PM edit delete reply
I notice how you made it so Miwa and Mary have completely different views on robots. Mary doesn't even like the "brain transferring" as it is, but Miwa is talking about literally "fixing" the four young robots...
view 28th Feb 2012, 11:15 PM edit delete reply
Yeah, they're pretty much complete opposites.
cattservant 28th Feb 2012, 11:25 PM edit delete reply
A question artifex* view. From info in various back ground comments, it seems that the state of the medical arts is remarkably advanced in the Nowheresville community. Would it be safe to assume average life span significantly extended? And does that factor into why Jim is only now beginning to take romantic interest in Mary.

<*A job description, not an exaltation.*>
