Comic and movie characters are always so incredibly stupid. I used to think it was because writers were stupid, or because they thought the audience was stupid.

Now I realize it's because you've got to spend all your time explaining why reasonably smart characters do what they do. :P

So, that's where he went... That's right, it was his big show in the first place. I think we may well find that quiet waters run deep.
A banjo!
And the crane did fall on the fossils.
Just Damn...

It's okay, they were already dead.

And the Museums quit complaining quite some time ago...

That's a hell of a pit for a foundation.

It was expanded to get at more dinosaur bones!

Did the Terawatt Tower Project predate the founding of Nowheresville?

Well, the dinosaur digging was canceled by the conflict that caused the XVT that the town was founded to clean up.

Gah. I have nothing useful to say still. I'm half comatose man. I lost my ability to ramble and make semi snarky comments! Look how short this comments section is without me! It's managable!

But it just doesn't make as much sense!

I shall return when I stop sleeping twenty hours out of the day. I mean medicine induces dreams are fun and vivid and bizarre and all, but they are cutting into the few things I have to do

Ah, Sleep... A lot like love. One should take it wherever one can find it!

JasperWB 2nd Mar 2012, 10:53 AM edit delete reply
If I had twenty hours of love a day, in any form, I wouldn't be complaining. I'd be far less irritable in general

I'm looking forward for a little character development on the blond boy.
Also, What is his name? Did I miss it or was it never said?

Modern minimalist it is.

About the Author Notes. Referring to the previous few pages, or what's developing now, or both, or neither? From a readers perspective it seems that the characters often develop a momentum and vector of their own.

"META POST!" (?) You young folks seem to have a language all your own these days! <grumble fumble mumble poot>

Such a beautiful sound :'D

I really really really like the first pannel, I must say.

It was not an easy panel, so I'm glad!

I find the cinematography (or at least the sequential art equivalent) nicely done to convey the mood Elvis must be feeling... In the comic book world, view you would make a great writer/penciller!
view 2nd Mar 2012, 1:21 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, maybe, but the comic world is just softcore porn of superheroes these days.
JasperWB 2nd Mar 2012, 2:18 AM edit delete reply
Yeah. So many of the good comics are made by teams of people who make one book then never work again. Or they make sequels. Or directors cuts. Or limited editions. Guess that's why its not good to have comics be the source of income you depend on. You just have to make money or you have to quit.
cattservant 2nd Mar 2012, 5:14 AM edit delete reply
Yeah. That could make it hard...

@duLapel: His world crashed to ruin all around him...(?) Ahh, gloom...

@view: It took a while and a long nap, but almost one entire day later; "Reasonably smart characters" are high maintenance. The Author is obliged to expend inordinate amounts of otherwise highly valuable effort and time in the discovery and description of their motivational impulses. Or, something like that. (?)

Thank you so much for making NMTG and for taking a stand against stupid!
