Mammaries... in the corner of my mind. Misty cotton-covered mammaries that aren't the way they were...

It's not that Jim is particularly subtle, it's that she's really caught up in her own dramas, and she wouldn't expect any untoward glances from *him*, anyway. So she never notices.

The spider dredge (previously "excavator") is an underwater spider-like robot connected to a big pump. It sucks up the lakebed and a tube carries it to a surface dump site. It also carves up the lakebed if there's rock or something in the way. This is pretty hard on the lakebed and only certain surfaces make for good new lakebed, which is why she wants to do it at a specific point and expand the lake in a specific direction. Unfortunately, Jianguo thinks that land should remain wetlands. ALL OF THESE DETAILS NEVER MATTER.

This page is REALLY wall of text. But I think it holds up okay for it.

This is getting pretty close to the last page of fanservice! Awwww...

"My eyes are up here, Jim!"
Besides being a wonderful study of C-cup dynamics under thin jersey, I think it serves the story well.
* It shows Mary's tendency for drama and hyperbole.
* Her actual shy introspection under her overt bravado (almost a Freudian Reaction formation.) ...Very endearing, by the way.
* and finally, Jim's turning point... Mary is very much a woman and very very much a mammal!

It is unclear that the excavator works underwater... This would could be easily cleared up by renaming it a spider dredge. (sorry for getting techie, but your annotated description was that of a dredge.)

Still wondering if the octopus in question is a self-aware cephalopod with verbal skills or just being anthropomorphized in conversation... I'll just have to wait as the story evolves... ^_^

Her in the last two panels...DAMN. I have said it once I will say it again, you draw women so amazingly well.

I think that in those two panels it's mostly childish body language, rather than womanly body language... the female anatomy is actually a bit meh, but I like the way the body language makes her feel a bit childish.

Instead of posting in each page, I will post my averall though about your comic on the last one since you said the comment system is a little crappy x)

I love Marina's house, the fact the wall could be invisible remember me the houses from Christopher Frank's book 'Immortelle'.

"Why do you need opaque wall if you have nothing to hide to the governement."

A very weird and obscure book, it's good to remember it trough your comic ^-^

I like also all the details you give in the description, even if you said it's doesn't matter; that give a plus to your comic =3

Btw your avatar is an hot-dog or a person with long hair ?

After noticing all the aforementioned subtleties in this comic, I think I shall go reread cheer...

Man, I feel weird for following this strip, yet having zero understanding of comic art technique or how to give constructive criticism of same.

Half these guys have commented on my previous stuff, so we had talks about this sort of thing there. Don't take it too seriously, and just try to enjoy the story.

After reading this page, especially panels 4, 8, and 9 I have a question. 1. Can I pick my jaw up off the ground? Mary looks adorable in 4 and 9, and drop dead gorgeous in 8.
view 6th Jun 2011, 4:27 AM edit delete reply
Once you've dropped it on the ground, you have to throw it away. It's dirty, now.

Thank you, artistic hot dog person. I shall.

(And yeah, Mary's super-sexy-adorable.)
JasperWB 6th Jun 2011, 7:16 AM edit delete reply
Well being hot and bothered and embarrassed aren't too far away so yeah, ok.

GOD DAMNIT...she is so adorable in that last the last time I saw a woman like that was my ex fiance when we shared our first night together.

Thank you for bringing back that beautiful memory.

I'll buy you a drink for it some day.

This page is quite awesome with its kickass display of body language (from both characters)It's amazing that in spite of all the dialogue, it really is the art that tells the story.

Glad you liked it. These wall-of-text pages are always risky, but I also thought this one worked okay.

Read All your pages up to here so far! Getting late but man, nice comic! I feel like I'm watching a movie, the sound effects work so well too, that's part of what gives me the movie feeling. It's relaxing.

Oh my god, those last two panels are probably the cutest thing I've seen all week. I love the childish embarrassment she has here.
