Not here in the Lake District of the Florida Alps. Quite the opposite actually.

...that's bound to be bad for your knuckles.

Somehow I don't think 1.98% is describing her chances of understanding Cats!*
You know, I thought something seemed atypical when Miwa kicked that bed so hard she lifted it off the floor even though Jim was sitting on it. And she didn't flinch or say ouch either!**

*(Although the numbers are probably comparable.)

A one in 50 chance is not completely horrible, really. Gives you at least something to work with. Don't give up, Miwa!
Brex 6th Apr 2012, 11:21 PM edit delete reply
Interesting. No current way to tell what she is calculating for, but the fact that she can kick and punch objects of considerable durability means something. Either parts of her are robotic or her nervous system was damaged from the lightning strike, particularly the pain receptors.

Well, her right arm also has a watch embedded in it, so...
Brex 7th Apr 2012, 12:12 AM edit delete reply
Ooh. This makes wonder just how much of her is synthetic. However, I have never heard of a victim of lightning ever having their limbs damaged to point of replacement. Unless she was born without them. Hmmm.

Weather is a whole lot more severe, now.
Brex 7th Apr 2012, 12:59 AM edit delete reply
I see. That would makes sense given current weather is becoming increasingly severe.
lngxv 7th Apr 2012, 11:45 AM edit delete reply
When did she get the watch? It does not show in earlier panels that show the right hand.

It showed when she was comforting Gretel.
tteclod 6th Apr 2012, 11:37 PM edit delete reply
I think she's trying to save the world, literally.
Brex 6th Apr 2012, 11:55 PM edit delete reply
What gives you that idea? Though we have only seen View's world through this town, it doesn't seem to be in any peril.

Yeah, it's nothing so noble.

Playing a big ass violin for poor Miwa. If you put that much faith in numbers you will never succeed

The real take away questions seems to be; What constraints? And, who is imposing them?

Of course, the scenario of Miwa subjugating large portions of the Southwest with hordes of Triffids and Robo-Cats doesn't seem quite so improbable after this Page!

Is that an accidental sweat drop there in panel 2?
WhiteAier 7th Apr 2012, 2:59 AM edit delete reply
Unless Miwa has something planned to cause drama, or if some sort of ecological concern arrives, I'm curious how much longer the comic will be. Even though it may defeat part of the purpose of this comic but have you thought about doing a sort of prequel about Mary and Jim's past together? Maybe I'm biased but I'd love to know more on what they went through. Especially Mary's many stages in life we've seen.

Yup.
Meh.Aloe 7th Apr 2012, 3:22 AM edit delete reply
She's either calculating her chances of successfully stealing Jim, or just working on Project Rainforest.

Hmm. Though she did say that she was already done the latter... It's the little raindrop on the folder icon that makes me think it's just something weather-related.
JasperWB 7th Apr 2012, 3:30 AM edit delete reply
JasperWB
Probably has to do with weather since it would make me and my comment seem obnoxious heh.
SpaceMonkey 8th Apr 2012, 11:51 PM edit delete reply
SpaceMonkey
Yeah... I just automatically assumed it had to be her chances with Jim. I can't imagine her being that upset about anything else.

In fact.. I'm not sure I recall her being remotely emotional about anything else at all unless you count her anxiety around lightening.
Meh.Aloe 9th Apr 2012, 3:31 AM edit delete reply
She was also very frustrated with her three-second error in the lightning strike prediction. I can see her getting angry about something like that, due to perfectionism...

Which arm was it that was hurting her on (Page #238, panel 5 )?
JasperWB 7th Apr 2012, 8:46 PM edit delete reply

You know, I once did something similar to all this with my head once. And my dad used to dent and bend locker doors with /his/ head. So what I'm saying is I must have a synthetic organic head and therefore must have a supercomputer robot brain. And it must think leading with your body into objects is a good idea to repeat often.

Think on all that for a while. Insanity and genius are two sides of the same coin you know.

When you flip it, the trick would be to get the coin to land on it's edge and then stay there for a while.

@JasperWB: If Insanity and Genius were two sides of a Quarter then you would most certainly be a Dime, perhaps a Peso.

Good thing she hit the wall with the prosthetic hand. I am assuming it is easier to repair than a meat hand.
SpaceMonkey 8th Apr 2012, 11:49 PM edit delete reply
SpaceMonkey
Easier perhaps and less painful but more expensive I would imagine.

The nice thing about meat is the cost is mostly just time while it repairs itself using only the relatively cheap materials we eat. ;)

"Fuck this planet! Fuck these constraints!"

Next page the comic takes a turn for the supernatural and Gaia decides to stop providing her with gravity, protection from cosmic radiation, and air refuses to exchange heat with her.

The scientific community marvels. Soap opera fans lose the opportunity to see whatever it is that was her plan to seduce Jim.

This is quite dramatic. Sort of a seductive tyranny thing. Now all she needs to do is grow her triffids and build the robo-cats!
JasperWB 9th Apr 2012, 9:14 AM edit delete reply

Indeed. And on one last note, the text is possible to translate and it is purposely broken and stupid. First part is roughly "Glorious Leader is massive whore. But Glorious Leader OUR massive whore!" Then "No man is alon e at night with Chairwoman Miwa." Very last part has to be figured out on its own because translated back to English its real meaning is probably quite garbled and if anyone cared enough to try to figure it out the guesses are probably more entertaining than the real answer.

I won't spoil crap though.
