Well, back to The Future, but still in the closet.

Maternal Mary may have made a difference, maybe...
view 17th May 2012, 9:59 PM edit delete reply
"Maternal" apparently just means "has boobs".
cattservant 17th May 2012, 10:05 PM edit delete reply
No, Mary has an archetypal female soul even if she doesn't always manifest.

BTW: Love those doom dark fuzzy spheres!

Waking up between a woman's legs after a night of lucid dreams. I approve of this page.

Also, so many cute, expressive faces! Your work always manages to cheer me up! And by the time of day you post I'm sure glad to feel better.

I love these two "sisters"
JasperWB 17th May 2012, 10:55 PM edit delete reply
I can see that happening in the end. That would be nice.
Iamari 18th May 2012, 3:48 AM edit delete reply
Why is there smoke? and why are they not freaking out?
view 18th May 2012, 4:06 AM edit delete reply
Smoke? You mean the Scooby-Doo dissolve?
Iamari 19th May 2012, 3:40 AM edit delete reply
I thought the Scooby-Doo Dissolve was wavy like water.

So did she just black out for the lightning, or is it morning?

Also, I am both indecisive and a lover of surprises. I put my icon's fate into your hands.

Then you won't get one. I'm not drawing a face that has no connection to the requester.
G-Rock 18th May 2012, 2:12 PM edit delete reply
I would have a connection with it, but looking back, I made it sound too vague. Basically what I wanted was me as a robot, but I was also considering the fact that most people don't get to choose how they look. I kind of disregarded the whole ROBOTS CAN part... again. I'm a guy, young adult. I generally keep my hair shorter and messily parted to one side, and unlike Jim, no one would ever call me McNosington. Ever. Most likely the opposite of it, whatever that may be. As for personal tastes, I do enjoy a bit of asymmetry. I hope that helps. It's not that I don't care what I get, quite the opposite in fact. I just like the idea of "this is you. life gave you to you. appreciate you.", only in this case, instead of mother nature, it's view. I actually really want to see where your imagination takes it. I'll give you more to work with if you want, but I also don't want to rigorously define it.

I find it quite ironic that in panel 4, Mary has the same expression Miwa had when she was checking the clock while hugging Gretel.

Now that you mention it...
JasperWB 18th May 2012, 9:19 PM edit delete reply
When I first saw it I thought of the embarassed Jim face from the following:

View's trademark is the profile unamused/neutral expression face I think.
cattservant 18th May 2012, 9:27 PM edit delete reply
Definitely a stylistic connection.
Guest 18th May 2012, 2:47 PM edit delete reply
So, is the watch a Miwa-matic feature, or do a lot of people have in-wrist wristwatches?
G-Rock 18th May 2012, 2:50 PM edit delete reply
Also, stop logging me out as you please, Firefox.
cattservant 18th May 2012, 7:59 PM edit delete reply
@Guest: First you need a prosthetic arm. It' not clear if Jack or any of the Robots have wrist chronometers. Seems as though the robots would have internal clocks unless they were being human.
G-Rock 18th May 2012, 8:19 PM edit delete reply
Well I know we are getting really close to overcoming the immune response issues that make prosthetics such a pain in the butt, we can make microscale display systems on a flexible substrate, and we're coming up with new organic power systems every day. The watch could very well be OLEDs embedded in some non-degradable polymer. They just recently (irl) came up with that piezoelectric virus system that was powering an LCD screen. It seems completely possible for people still in possession of their original arms to have a fancy watch like that too. I know I'd want one.

I can't find the reference at the moment, but I think there was an article about this sort of thing being applied rather like a tattoo.*

*(Here it is.>^OO^<!)
G-Rock 18th May 2012, 8:26 PM edit delete reply
Are you talking about the one where they embed the polymer with the dye and have to surgically put it in you, then you scan it with the light thing hooked up to a computer and the image comes out, and it's reusable?
cattservant 18th May 2012, 8:40 PM edit delete reply
Click on the blue cat emoticon.
G-Rock 18th May 2012, 8:48 PM edit delete reply
Yeah that's the one. They actually have something right now that's actually functional, only it's static. The image can change, but it must be done manually with a piece of equipment. It's only a functional prototype right now though iirc. The technology is definitely there though to make dynamic systems too.

Here's the virus article I mentioned. Cool stuff.
cattservant 18th May 2012, 9:05 PM edit delete reply
That is interesting information. With a little imagination, this could be worked up into one of view's modern day monsters.
cattservant 18th May 2012, 5:59 PM edit delete reply
Sure do like them doom dark fuzzy spheres!

Undead H3r3tic
I forgot what they were doing a few pages ago, so I was really confused as to why Miwa was between Mary's legs... I feel dirty now.

Mary and Miwa. I ship it.
