It's very hard to draw cute robot toddlers.

Awwww. He's so cute. I approve of him and I approve of you drawing him cute.

On an unrelated note, I just saw my first car wreck in person. Right in front of my house. They are much, much louder than you'd think they'd be.

So what happens now view. The relationship established and miwa defeated, where are you going with this? I'm not complaining I’m just curios.

The plot!
JasperWB 24th May 2012, 10:11 PM edit delete reply
Curios? I am also an oddity!

There are faint intimations of separation anxiety just behind the horizon.

Wait there's plot?! BLASPHEMER!
iamjagman 24th May 2012, 10:17 PM edit delete reply
At one point, did you not say that robots began looking very robotic and became more human as they "grew up"?
cattservant 24th May 2012, 10:22 PM edit delete reply
I think it's more a matter of behavior than appearance. Also, Takeshi's parents are human and humanoid.
view 24th May 2012, 11:10 PM edit delete reply
If you're talking about the toddler, he hasn't grown up any because it hasn't been very long.
iamjagman 25th May 2012, 10:31 PM edit delete reply
Err, actually, I was saying that since the toddler hadn't grown up much, wouldn't he look more robotic?
view 25th May 2012, 10:42 PM edit delete reply
Ahh, just parent's preference.

WAIT WAIT WAIT. 311 pages and you still haven’t gotten to the plot. so basically we are still in the rising action and we still haven’t gotten to apex or peek? if this is true then we have several hundred pages left to go?
view 25th May 2012, 1:25 AM edit delete reply
No, it's a short plot.
JasperWB 25th May 2012, 2:37 AM edit delete reply
The entire story is plot. It's the climax you mean, right? I've never heard of the plot being referred to as a part of the story timeline.

Urrrr, not the plot of the *story*, silly.
JasperWB 25th May 2012, 4:11 AM edit delete reply
Oh. Ok then...I'll just sit tight and see what happens!
Viscount_Tusc 25th May 2012, 1:50 AM edit delete reply
The plot will reveal all!

Also, seeing "Leaving a comment on 'Miiiiiiii"' put a smile on my face. :)

Oh lordy... 'Cheer' is being posted again on 4chan. Time to go direct people here once again lol

Well, don't get too excited. I get a bunch of comments on those days, but no significant traffic.
Shadowstitch 25th May 2012, 2:34 PM edit delete reply
Well it's still an important and enjoyable part of my daily online experience regardless of widespread popularity.

I feel a little let down. You would think that with every new thread that someone posts to dump the entirety of your comics, referring them to your current project would have a significant, or at least noticeable, increase in traffic with some of them coming to view your work. Even if they only came once to see what it was all about there should be a spike in hits you get.

kinda makes me think of Astroboy, also keep up the awesome work View. I've been coming here since the comic "Hi" (coincidentally when this robot kid was born) and I've been enjoying the story since. Stay radical man!

You know looking at all those i's (or "i"s, never had to type a letter in plural) you can tell the emotion being felt as they were being written. When you picked up speed, then slowed down because they started to look bad. It's like the repetitive action of doing the same letter over and over again is a window into the mind.

They should make that a new psychiatric technique.

Y'know, I really like Miwa. I never really hated her, but I can't see any real reason for Jim to be so enamored with Mary as opposed to Miwa. We've seen that she's beautiful, sensual, studious, intelligent, determined; she's suffered through severe personal tragedy and persevered, and nurses an unrequited devotion that any man would be lucky to experience. I don't know what Mary could possibly have done with/to Jim to deserve the prize. Unless he's just utterly shallow and prefers chubby boobs.
Phuji 25th May 2012, 3:01 PM edit delete reply
No one really hates Miwa. But the way you talk about Mary in comparison here kinda makes it seem like you hate her and she's unworthy.

Maybe they just fell in love? Maybe Jim sees things in Mary's personality that he likes better? Sure, Miwa has likeable characteristics but Jim has a pretty clearly defined "type" and Miwa just isn't it.

True. People love people and that's the way it goes. There isn't always perfect sense to people on the outside of the relationship. Beyond how a person acts it has to do with personal experiences too. Even in cases where two people are very similar, the time spent with one can always make them special in ways the other can never be.
