Saw an artist I liked inking her comic. I was like "IS THAT HOW YOU INK? How can you be that patient? My inking is like BLIPBLIPBLIP DONE."

Of course, her art's better than mine, so I guess you get what you pay (time) for.

Actually, I guess whatever is left of the organic matter would make fairly excellent soil, wouldn't it?

Well, it would turn into rich soil when populated by bacteria.

I like the eye-in-panel in the last...panel. That is what it is, right?

And your art looks fine inked. It only ever gets a little iffy when you're drawing people or objects that are distant to the "camera" and have to be drawn smaller than normal. And then I think the only way to fix that is using a different pen or drawing them bigger and shrinking them.

Yeah I know, I don't know shit about drawing.

No, it's her whole head, chibified and blushing.

What is that thing in the last panel ?
Gretel's eye ?

Ehhh, a failed attempt to put a little inset of Gretel blushing. Oh well.

It's not that hard to see is it? I got it the first time.

Yeah I guessed it! It's not failed. Though I think I've become invisible. Again.

You guessed it was an eyeball. I didn't feel like correcting you...

An eye. Gretel's eye/face thing.
Guest 10th Jun 2012, 10:58 PM edit delete reply
I got it right away but it does look weird since her face is shaped differently than usual there.

I think the main problem is... that Gretel has a round, featureless face, with a round, featureless eye in the middle. So we have a circle, with a smaller circle inside, with an even smaller circle inside. Also, it's pretty small in that panel.

Overall, my first impression was that it was something sitting at the side of the pool, but from context, given that it has a balloon, and the only other character in the scene is Gretel, it was pretty obvious that it was her.

It's probably just that we recognize something as a face from some features (a mouth, a nose, two eyes, hair, a neck, a somewhat oval shape) of which very few appear on Gretel's in that cut-in.

Noooo I hope she doesn't give up on Jim. I love that relationship dynamic.

Thanks much for the avatar, view. I like it - looks a bit angry which, unfortunately, is usually me...

So I had a bizarre dream that some kind of mutated human octopus hybrid emerged from the lake here as a result of the first apocalypse and this most recent accident with the spider tank and became a threat so massive it brought about a second apocalypse in the town that could not be contained no matter what was done. Mary was actually the hero who saved the day finally with help from the town kids like Gretel and Elvis. Tons of carnage and unknown characters fell at this creature and it was all in your black and white drawing style but animated.

A truly trippy experience. It was one of the better story driven dreams I've had in some time. Like a kick ass B-movie from your world.

Oh my, Gretel's ship is docking. She's either going to learn to fish or master baiting!
