Aahhh, I didn't want to draw this page. Don't much like tomorrow's page, either.

I take it the octopus didn't survive, and the others in the lake too.

So far my predictions from two pages ago are right on track.

Yes. Do you know what it is? Probably not, if you had to ask.

All I know is that it's either a misspelling of Cerberus, or it's a reference to an old comic. If it's the latter, is it hinting to the end of this comic thing coming soon? Maybe through an extreme catastrophe? I dunno, probably completely wrong though.

As long as the drama isn't all depressing, the comic can go wherever it wants.

My recommendation? Stephen King style crossovers to other view-niverses.

Random question, but is your name a reference to anything?

And I'm guessing that someone important is going to die soon and everyone completely falls apart. Or something along those lines.

Shit, I don't need this comic to get full of death, depression, and negative emotions. I can find most of that within 30 feet of myself at all times.

Aww, it's just third act jitters.

Ok. I trust you and the cast. The crew though. I don't trust some of the crew. Well mainly the set designer...

(that was a lighthearted joke at the end. Please don't take personally!)

i'd just like to voice my opinion that i trust your judgment, View, and that i had expected the story to take a more dramatic turn for a while now so your pacing was spot on.
Greeb 12th Jun 2012, 10:29 PM edit delete reply
I do wonder if Mary could actually 'get over' this. I mean, if she thought of those octopi as anything near her children, then... well, I'm not sure she could get past that. Not for a while, anyway. And she could very easily turn it around on Jim. Not that he's entirely blameless; indeed given the nature of what they were dealing with, his lapse in security procautions borders on the criminal.
Greeb 12th Jun 2012, 10:33 PM edit delete reply
Precautions, even.

He's on the record as thinking such bioweapons were fiction. It's roughly the equivalent of a nuclear physicist suddenly finding out that the Incredible Hulk really exists.
Greeb 13th Jun 2012, 4:12 PM edit delete reply
I wasn't talking about the bioweapon. He had to know that tank was still loaded with XVT, yet he had it simply sitting next to a major watersource, with no real barrier. That's absolutely negligence.

I can understand being sad as the loss of her cephalopod friends but this reaction seems a bit extreme. I wonder if this is some indication of what happened to her brother.

Well, for starters, octopuses don't have bones.

They have a beak thingy though. But uh, is this a subtle indication of her brothers cause of death? The painful ailment that is bone cancer?

Bone cancer? Where did you pull that from? He was melted!
JasperWB 13th Jun 2012, 4:03 AM edit delete reply
JasperWB
I just figured a bone disease and so I picked the most painful /known/ one. Second guess was indeed him suffering something that melted his bones but I didn't feel like tacking it onto my post like usual so I seemed like I was making a vague guess that couldn't be wrong only because of it being vague, and so I was waiting for you to respond before I tried that one. But then you...and I...and now I feel stupid.

Man, how dare you guess the ailment wrong? If this was "What's My Disease", I'd vote you off in an instant.

The thing is, in the situation they were in, it was like 'unleash the deadly gas' or 'have a bioweapon eat the whole city and become such a menace that they nuke the whole state lest it eat the whole world'.

Not to be unfeeling, but they bio-engineered the Octopuses so I'm sure they will start up the program again.
