Lean on "friends"? Rely on other, non-Jim people?
I've got science to do.

I can't tell if that's anger or a broken heart.
Your friendly Shadowtroll 30th Jun 2012, 3:16 AM edit delete reply
it's both, but the thing is is Miwa angry at herself or Jim.

Hey just found your other long and awesome comic 'cheer' and found this awesome thing through some searching. (people who posted 'cheer' didn't credit you) Anyway I just spent the last few hours catching up and I have to say this is one of the best online comics I've ever read. Keep it up please, thank you. :) (also you draw/write sex better than 93.692847% of the internet)

Hmm. I know that conversation. Just like that too. Minus science stuff. It does hurt. The kind of stuff that makes you stop bothering.

Went to an amusements park today. I got blisters on my feet and heat exhaustion. I require pity now.

How about cold liquids and elevated feet?
Meh.Aloe 30th Jun 2012, 5:46 AM edit delete reply
Amusement parks are a poorly named thing, and visitors to them often require sympathy afterwards, I find!

... She's doing science, and she's still alive. She feels FANTASTIC, and she's still alive...

Hey, I really, really, liked your comic Cheer and was directed to here by Phuji. I was posting it and he told me you made it and you're currently making this one? I can't wait to read it :3

And as soon as Miwa said her last line "Still Alive" popped up in my head and will be on continuous loop for a while in my brain.

Poor Miwa. :(
Guest 30th Jun 2012, 9:17 PM edit delete reply
Having just read straight through from the beginning I feel bad for Miwa's ultimate rejection, like her harsh exterior is just a facade, which has now been reinforced. I kind of wish Jim and Miwa had ended up together because other than sex and growing up together, it doesn't feel to me like Mary and Jim have much of a deeper connection. Over time it seems likely that Miwa's hard exterior shell would have softened.

I suppose the heart of the problem is that Miwa and Jim are disconnected by their age difference, which is unfortunate. (Perhaps this is where the title comes from?) In my view though Miwa acts far more mature than her age. In the very beginning I'd presumed Mary was the immature kid and Miwa was the older, life-hardened adult strictly based on how they acted. If Miwa were close to Jim's age he'd probably see her as a realistic romantic prospect.

I know Miwa's been kind of a bitch (or simply the logical/calculated mastermind) at times, and since the beginning it seems Jim's sights were set on Mary, but overall I've come to like Miwa a lot more and feel sad for her. Kudos to the writing for making me care about these characters.

(I'm "guest" now with an account.)

I cant begin to express my immersion into this comic. I've diven in and havnt stopped for air, food or potty breaks...

I do love Jim and Mary. If Jim where to end up with Miwa he'd be hopelessly unhappy.

Being with a genious is hard. Being with a genious with moodswings even harder. Being with a genious with moodswings that hasnt realized he/she needs to be kind is impossible.

Miwa is so wrong for Jim. Happiness can only be achived through simplicity. Mary is simplicity while not, never being a simple person.

Either view is a genious or the characters in view's comics has their own life in view's head.

Hmm .. if the characters are having their own life inside of View's head .. does that mean they throw parties on friday night too ?

Might explain Views's recent need for sleep, all his braincells are hungover. :D

"the end of the matter." Miwa is off to do science. Jim is off to do Mary. Plot element concluded.*

*(It would be an subtle artistic touch if periods were little hexagons instead of circles.)

On my browser, this comic reads:
"Never Mind The Gap - . -"

Smiley face! Which is strangely appropriate. :P

Miwa goes on to become GLaDOS. She has science to do.
