Well, I am glad you keep them coming. Heh, "Spider Tanks" always makes me think of the Kovachs novels. Damn those things are scary.

Made me think of the Tachikomas from Ghost in the Shell, although those are more tick than spider.

Jack the ecologist not the roboticist Jim?

Okay Jack is old and if the war machine is still active...

More "Jack the rough and ready guy who handles the munitions decommissioning system..."

Would it make a whole lot of sense to call Jim? Sure, he's a robot guy, but he's not really the sort of person you think of when you think "military hardware".

Plus Jack is more likely than Jim to have the equipment to pull or dig it out of the ground.

Well actually the top people I trained in EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) were all very like Jim... Those that did things to loose themselves body parts wound up transfered to "safer" jobs... Unruffled stoicism was a plus.

This is closest to Jack's backstory.

Except they can't use the term EOD any more, because 99% of the things he had to dispose of were chemical or biological. The term Jack insisted on was "General Ordinance Disposal", but for obvious reasons, nobody would ever use the acronym.

... It should also be noted that he wasn't really very great at it...

Lately I see reaction faces left and right. I need to save some of those for future use.

Your icon makes it hard not to read your posts as an ironically detached statement about whatever you're discussing.

"Reaction faces" left and right.

I need to "save" some of those for "future use."

Yes, "that" is the "whole idea" of the "avatar". However, I do "not" speak ironically "all" the time.

I can't imagine which of these faces you'd use as reaction faces, but feel free.

"What IS this" panel is a pretty great reaction face to the unknown. With almost suffering face, and hand for emphasis.
Panel 7 can double as a 'not sure if serious' glance to each other, even if the glance isn't originally about that.
